Fire Chief Henry Davis has dedicated 35 years of service to the Gluckstadt Fire Department, marking a career defined by leadership, vision, and unwavering commitment to public safety. Beginning his journey with GFD in 1990, Chief Davis has guided the department through decades of growth and transformation, always with the mission of protecting the citizens of Gluckstadt at the forefront.
Under his leadership, the department achieved a Class 4 ISO rating, a milestone that reflects both operational excellence and community trust. Chief Davis has overseen the opening of two fire stations, expanding the department’s reach and readiness, and has led the transition to a full-time organization with approximately 50 personnel. These accomplishments stand as a testament to his dedication to building a strong, resilient, and professional fire service.
Chief Davis’s legacy is one of courage, integrity, and mentorship. His commitment to developing firefighters and strengthening the department ensures that the Gluckstadt Fire Department continues to uphold the highest standards of honor, professionalism, and service.

Division Chief Nick Rushton has served the Gluckstadt Fire Department for 16 years, bringing steady leadership and operational expertise to the daily functions of the department. His role is central to ensuring that the organization runs smoothly, with responsibilities that include ordering supplies, overseeing fire truck maintenance, coordinating fire truck acquisitions, and managing relationships with outside partners.
Beyond logistics, Chief Rushton also plays a vital role in personnel management, supporting the men and women of the department and addressing the challenges that come with a growing, full-time fire service. His dedication ensures that the department remains well-equipped, well-staffed, and ready to respond to the needs of the community.
Chief Rushton has further strengthened his expertise by completing multiple Mississippi State Fire Academy (MSFA) programs and other advanced training classes, enhancing his ability to lead and manage the department’s complex operations. His commitment to excellence and his ability to balance operational demands with personnel leadership make him an indispensable part of the Gluckstadt Fire Department’s success.

Division Chief Dustin Perry has served the Gluckstadt Fire Department for 16 years, rising through the ranks from firefighter to division chief. In 2021, he became the first fire code official and fire marshal sworn in for the City of Gluckstadt, establishing a new standard of safety and compliance for the growing community.
Chief Perry oversees fire code enforcement, public relations, and event coordination, as well as food truck inspections and public fire and safety education for citizens of all ages—from daycare children to high school students. He also assists in instructing students in the Law and Public Safety class at Germantown High School, helping prepare the next generation of public safety professionals.
In addition to his fire service leadership, Chief Perry manages the EMS division with the assistance of Battalion Chief Andy Divine Jr, ensuring operational readiness and excellence in emergency medical response. He earned his EMT certification in 2009, advanced to AEMT in 2021, and achieved Paramedic status in 2023. He continues to serve part-time on an ambulance as a paramedic, bringing his expertise directly to the community.
Chief Perry further advanced his professional training at the National Fire Academy in Emmitsburg, Maryland, completing the program “Managing Effective Fire Prevention Programs.” His dedication to public safety was recognized statewide when he received the first-ever First Responders of Mississippi Community Champion Award in 2023, honoring his passion and commitment to making a difference for both the community and the state.
Chief Perry’s dedication to personnel development, public education, and emergency medical services reflects his commitment to strengthening the department and protecting the citizens of Gluckstadt with honor and professionalism.

Battalion Chief Dan Tarsi has served the Gluckstadt Fire Department for 13 years, demonstrating steadfast dedication and leadership throughout his career. He has held the rank of Battalion Chief for 7 years, guiding personnel and operations with professionalism and commitment to excellence.
In 2012, Chief Tarsi was honored with the Mighty Dragon Slayer Award, a recognition of his courage and service. His pursuit of professional growth continued, and in 2025 he achieved his nationally recognized Fire Inspector certification, further strengthening the department’s capabilities in fire prevention and safety enforcement. He has also completed multiple Mississippi State Fire Academy (MSFA) programs and other advanced training classes, expanding his expertise and reinforcing his leadership within the fire service.
Chief Tarsi’s blend of operational leadership, inspection expertise, extensive training, and decorated service record reflects his unwavering commitment to the Gluckstadt Fire Department and the community it protects.

B-SHIFT
Battalion Chief Andy Divine Jr. has proudly served the Gluckstadt Fire Department for 7 years, bringing dedication, skill, and leadership to both fire and EMS operations. A certified paramedic, he plays a vital role in assisting with the EMS division and overseeing logistics that keep the department running efficiently day to day.
Andy earned his National Registry EMT certification in 2018 and graduated from the Fire Academy’s Basic 1001 class in 2019. His commitment to professional growth continued as he rose through the ranks, achieving the rank of Lieutenant in 2022 and being promoted to Battalion Chief in 2024. He has also completed multiple Mississippi State Fire Academy (MSFA) programs and other advanced training classes, further strengthening his expertise and leadership in the fire service.
Throughout his career, Andy has been recognized with several distinguished awards, including the Master of Smoke Signals Award, the Outstanding Leadership Award (2025), and the Life Saving Valor Award (2025). These honors reflect his courage, vision, and unwavering commitment to public safety.
Battalion Chief Divine’s leadership in EMS and logistics, combined with his decorated service record and extensive training, exemplifies the highest standards of professionalism and dedication to the Gluckstadt Fire Department and the community it serves.

C-SHIFT
Battalion Chief Ryan Sanford
Battalion Chief Ryan Sanford has dedicated 27 years to the fire service, beginning his career with the Brandon Fire Department before joining Gluckstadt Fire. His decades of experience reflect a deep commitment to public safety, professional excellence, and service to the community.
In 2019, he was promoted to Lieutenant and honored as Firefighter of the Year, recognizing his leadership and outstanding contributions to the department. That same year, he participated in the Nashville 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb, paying tribute to the fallen heroes of September 11, 2001, and demonstrating his dedication to honoring the legacy of the fire service.
Chief Sanford has completed multiple Mississippi State Fire Academy (MSFA) programs and other advanced training classes, further strengthening his expertise and leadership in the fire service. In 2025, he received the Early Bird Award, highlighting his reliability, commitment, and passion for the profession. His promotion to Battalion Chief reflects not only his extensive experience but also his ability to inspire and lead others.
Chief Sanford’s career is marked by courage, dedication, and a steadfast devotion to the values of honor and service that define the Gluckstadt Fire Department.
